Bandwith usage

Today All of my hosting abdnwith was used up. I checked it a few days ago and it was at 20% but now its all been used 5120MB. What could of casued this Even if we had a surge of activity it couldnt of used all of that?. Could this be becuase of tapatalk, as i Installed that recently.

Edit: This is a monthly badwith allowance. Our next billing date is 09/01/2014 so last was the 9th december, weve used 5124MB bandwith in 7 days???.

I had that problem a while back with a forum plug-in I had installed. It glitched up and the server was downloading images over and over again all day everyday. If you login to cPanel then go to awstats you can see where it's all being used.

While I'm no expert, you might also want to look into your web traffic. I save so many monthly resources by blocking 'bad bots' that have to business on my websites.

Logging features also tend to use up resources. If you can disable logging and it won't harm your activities, try that out for a change. I never look at the error log or the moderation log on most of my sites, so I do away with them.

Using 5 gb of bandwidth in 7 days is pretty crazy, you might work with your webhost to see if something went wrong or what the source was

You can cut down your bandwidth usage by reducing your picture posting. Tapatalk acts as the user image host and thus takes up a lot of bandwidth. This might have caused your bandwidth to get exhausted in just 7 days.

I checked Awstats and one spider has used over 4.8GB of bandwith.
