Do you use banner exchange systems? Do you think exchanging banners is a good way to advertise your website?

If you haven't come across banner exchange systems, the concept is that you add other people's banners to your website in exchange for your banner to be displayed on their sites. Normally you get credit per impression/click and then you use that to get your banner displayed on other people's sites.

Oh, I think they are a great idea, provided that the admin running it, sorts out all the dead links and images occasionally.

This is called an "Affiliate Exchange" in most parts of the forum world. 😛

If the site has a fairly good amount of traffic I think it's a good way to advertise. I don't have an exchange system but members can buy banner spots on my forum.

Personally, I've never used this type of system. At least, not in the pay per click sense. That said, I have added affiliate banners to my sites and have exchanged that way for many years. I'm not really sure how much that helps a site to be honest.
