Banner making program

Any one knows any good free program (not a trial version) I could download from the internet? I currently use Banner Maker Pro 8 but it makes the banner very poor on quality.

Anyone knows a better program?

GIMP's a good suggestion. It's practically right up there with photoshop but it's a freeware. Try it out and see if you take a liking to it.
