First Impressions: (15 out of 15)
The first thing I see when I look at the forum is the unique, flat design. I'm intrigued and impressed with both the design and the name at first glance.
Site Structure: (12 out of 15)
The site structure threw me off a little bit, but in a good way. Everything is easy to follow, and the site is very easy to navigate. Finding things on the forum takes little to no effort at all. I specifically like how some of the categories are in the sidebar while others are located in the forum list. It helps make the forum look less cluttered with all the boards you have.
The only suggestions I have for are for the "Welcome" link on the sidebar, and the logo/site name text in various places. The "Welcome" link should say something like "Home" or "Forum." When I navigated away from the index, it took me a moment to figure out how to get back to the forum index. I clicked on community, and it took me to members where, with the current structure, I assumed it would take me back to the forum index. The other suggestion is to add a link to the Forum Name text in the logo, and nav trees so that the forum index can be easily reached again by clicking on those two things. Otherwise, great job with the site structure.
Design Quality: (12 out of 15)
I love the flat design and the overall look and feel of the forum. That said, I feel like the logo text needs to be smaller as it's currently way too big in the header. The sub-text or sub-logo text needs to have more space between it and the main logo. The search bar background is fine, but the text should be white or something more legible against that pink/red color.
I like the use of icons in the sidebar next to each item. That said, the new/old icons seem unoriginal given the rest of your theme. And, of course, those icons are seen on hundreds of other forums.
Originality: (13 out of 15)
For a general discussion forum, I feel that the site's theme is very original. I can tell that you've put effort and time into making it different than other forums in the niche. I think the name of the forum would be original except for the fact that the name doesn't relate to the forum itself. Simply put, most people on your forum do seem to be friendly (lol), so the name is misleading.
Overall Mark: (52 out of 60)
Overall, I see a lot of potential for your forum. Continue advertising and promoting your site and I'm sure it'll take off. Good luck!
