Appearance
Wow! Yes, those were the exact words when I visited your web site! First off, amazing job on the theme; it is simply amazing. The leggo robots in the header, the color combination of blue, grey and white is perfect. There was nothing that stood out to me in your appearance as a first time visitor to your site as something dis-likable. Oh, did I mention I love your favicon? Haha However, just browsing through your site for a bit longer, I noticed the "More >" button is a little blurry and the text seems a little condensed although there are plenty of space on either side. Overall, as you mentioned your theme is very professional, very pleasing to the eyes. As a first time visitor, I loved your theme.
Layout
I think the best way to do a review of your layout would be to do it in sections.
Dynamic content: Both your menus are placed perfectly in my opinion or has the right content in the right places. The top menu is for the website and the authors etc and the second menu is all about legos. You side bar (excluding homepage) is a good size and things are placed nicely and understandably. For example, the amazon deals are placed on top and I think this is great. The only suggestion I have is maybe you should place the Facebook on all pages as well. Your footer is excellent as well, only thing I can suggest would be to move the first column to last and move the others one back. So, subscription and friends are last. Just out of curiosity, have you thought about implementing a flickr gallery within your web site (as in a separate page)?
Statistics and Activity
For a blog that is only 7 months, the stats you provided are very good. And you said you excluded reviews section - which is one of the sections I saw frequent activity in. There isn't much to say here, the stats you provided shows great activity and I randomly clicked on 6 separate posts and all of them have twits, fb likes, and comments!

What can I say? You posts are entertaining, informal and creative. What I love the most about your posts/articles is that they are
very thorough. You are not one of those blogs that post just for the hell of it, you've got real meat in your content - so to speak anyway. From the 6 articles I read and several others I skimmed, finding a spelling mistake was quite impossible. However, I did see some
very few grammatical errors. Overall, you get an excellent mark on this part too.
Organisation and SEO
Your site is probably a little confusing because I am not a lego fan nor do I know much about legos (I do know about legoland!); thus I can't make much comment on your categories. However, from a general standpoint, I can judge your listed pages - and to be honest, you've got that down too!
As I say in all my reviews, SEO consists have several components and I obviously can't thoroughly give detailed info for everything so I'll focus on only a handful of SEO parts. Using what my employees use to review SEO, first thing I the compression of your pages. Although your web site loads relatively fast, it can definitely benefit from having pages compressed but you are successfully using gzip compression. You have got quite a few backlinks(~56 backlinks) and all are related to legos! Your meta (tags) are perfect as they contain title, description and keywords. here is your homepage keyword analyzed:

You have got a lot of work on SEO done and it's very impressive. Only few things I can suggest are, decreasing some of your image sizes or storing on a static subdomain, inline javascript to external files & you may want to cache your web pages.
