Battlefield Bad Company 2 code/VIP?

Right so im looking to get this game, but i keep seeing pre-owned copies saying "VIP or code has been used" What is the VIP or code? Do i need it to play online or something?

Or can i just play online just like COD?

Pretty sure it gets you free maps and stuff like that. Part of project $10 by EA.

Not 100% sure but some EA games require you to enter a code to play online now. Once the code has been used, you need to pay I think $10 to be able to access online play.

I thought it was something like that. I know there is a huge legal dispute with used games being sold and the profits being "stolen" from the publishers. EA created this code to kinda deter some of the used games that are being bought and them not receiving a check from it.

Yeah it's BS because they want to be made twice for something they sell once. If their games are better and longer people will less likely turn them in.

Once you buy BC2 you can play online for no extra fees

Yes as stated above if you buy it used make sure they didn't use the code other wise that's another $10+ for new code
