bbPress is forum software with a twist from the creators of WordPress. Easily setup discussion forums inside your WordPress.org powered site.

Have you used bbPress? What was your experience like? It seems quite limited in terms of features.

I used it many years ago. It was okay for a lightweight forum installation, though I imagine that has changed little over the years. I like the direction the team went in, offering the bare bones for a community to be founded upon. I only fear that many would find it limited (as you stated) after comparing its feature list against alternatives.

That said, one software doesn't fit all communities.

It is very limited, when it comes to features. If you want something that works with WordPress, this is your best option. bbPress can be customized and their are a few tutorials out there that can help you with that.

bbPress is okay, its not something that I would go for, let alone use. It's very limited, and even with styles it doesn't really match up to what I've liked. It does not behave like normal softwares do, however I am glad WordPress has this plugin.
