Just checked out Bebo Backstage and it says in the blog post well doesn't state but most users reckon it is shutting down, and then Google is buying it of off AOL. Decision's are being made.
Meh, I've never used Bebo and I doubt many people here still use it. As the article states, it was and still is a declining business, much like Myspace.
Also it is not definitely closing down although i wouldn't be surprised if it does. Sites like Bebo have their day then a new site comes along. Everybody was obsessed with MySpace then moved onto Facebook and twitter. Something new will come along and these two will fall like Myspace and Bebo have.
Bebo is still pretty big in the UK, from what I've heard. Possibly bigger than Facebook there.
Not sure what to say to this. I have a Bebo account, but used it for less than an hour. Just wasn't 'my thing', so I'm not really phased if it shuts down or not.
If you check backstage it's moan after moan and groan after groan. Anyway AOL will decide there decision next month in early May but I heard Yahoo & Google have both put bid's in for it, and Nestle the chocolate factory put a bid in which I completely lol'd at.
Lol, Nestle wants Bebo well I hope someone buys Bebo since it is good to have alternatives to Facebook, and Myspace which I try to avoid since everytime I go on Myspace or a popular Social Network my Antivirus warns me Myspace ads/website have viruses. Facebook is kind of borring I just use it to look at celebrity fan pages.
I just don't want Bebo to shut down because it means I will have to use Facebook or someother SN which I rarely used because they don't really offer much value to me. I just use Social Networks as a way to promote my forums, websites, and blogs for free by posting links on page with similar interests on my FB, myspace, bebo, and other social media in hope someone clicks on a SN clicks my link and join one of my sites. I posted a lot of links to my websites on Bebo, sad to see my self-promotional blog entries, videos, and promo pictures with a link watermark for my website being gone on Bebo.
Well froggyboy604, Google Wave is a pretty good alternative to Facebook if you don't want to use Facebook. The only problem is, there aren't many people on it yet, though you could invite them there. 😛
