Been offered $800!

I've just been offered $800 for my Call of Duty forum: thecodzone.com

I don't know if it's a joke or not, plus they said that as they've not seen any traffic statistics they will offer $800 but if I show any they may offer more,

what do you think I should do? Maybe they meant to say $80 :/

I know the forum isn't worth that much, or is it? It's pagerank 4, ranks high on good keywords, is advertised all over the web and has adwords running, etc..

That or tell them to make a $250 deposit before you send them the forum database, domain, etc. Plus, make sure that they send it to you as a gift so that they cant open a dispute and take it all back once they've received the stuff.

Use Escrow.com for the most secure selling of your website, if that's what you're planning. Client pays Escrow - they hold the money until it is confirmed you transferred the site to the client. Escrow then pays you the clients money.

Your site is worth as much as anyone is willing to pay. PR4 is a good pagerank as well.

I don't think he is joking about that. Your site has a nice layout and the header is awesome! It has a lot of posts and he knows that as the release date for MW3 comes closer, he will get more members.

If that actually is a real deal, take it. But be sure to question a lot if he's not a scammer and such. It's slightly north of what I would pay if I bought the site, but it's still a reasonable price.

I'd just ask him to pay half up front then give him the entire site.

Your forum looks fantastic and it has good activity, well done on that. If they were to start from scratch and placed a value on their time it would cost them more than $800 to bring a forum to the level where yours is, so the offer may well be a serious one.

I cant say how many others have sold sites for xxx value or more. But Notable, if they are serious they will do this

Use Escrow, Pay all at once, and pay the fees that is involved with escrow service.

I would take all $800 up front rather then $250 deposit over with escrow services.

If you provide traffic stats and they offer more then same thing should happen.

$800, i would accept it. But that is up to you, i know i wouldn't sell my current forum for anything less than $xxx,xxx not because i think its worth that, because i dont. But because i love my forum 🙂

To be honest your site isnt worth 800$ and to me it doesn't sound legit. So many other active forums could be sold for that much and that are active by up to 5x your forum.

I'm not saying this is not true, its just too good to be true. Let us know how it works out.
