So this isn't directly brainstorming for a forum, but instead I've been thinking about making a channel dedicated to making tutorials for different forum software. For example, a few people have issues trying to update phpBB or install extensions for the platform. I thought about making a new channel that is solely for forum tutorials, one that is separate from my main gaming channel. Would anyone be interested in something like this? I would eventually make tutorials for other software too, I don't know if I'd have enough money to talk about paid software at least at the beginning of the channel. Also should I branch out to other platforms like Rumble, Odyssey, etc?

I also love it! I feel like one of the things I typically struggled with as a forum owner was installing things, and if it wasn't done just right, it would break everything and became very frustrating.

I’m more of forum joiner than owner, but I’d still support the idea. ✊🏼

I really like the idea. I know that some of the stuff out there right now on some of the software is pretty much outdated, so you can bring a fresh take on it.

I don't deal with running forums anymore but it would be interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes.

Awesome thank you all for the feedback! I'm going to get started on it, my first video will be showcasing how to upgrade an older version of phpBB to the latest version. I'm also going to make a new gmail account for this channel, now I just need to come up with a good name lol. Would "Forumtutorials" be a decent enough name or is that too generic? I suppose it gets straight to the point, but let me know what you all think! Edit: The name "ForumTutorials" is already taken on Youtube, and has nothing to do with forums lol. So I'll have to come up with a different name I suppose.

AI gave me this.

Here are some name ideas for a YouTube channel for Forum Tutorials:

1. Forum Frenzy
2. Tutorial Hub
3. The Forum Guide
4. Learn With Forums
5. Forum Mastery
6. The Tutorial Room
7. Forum Insights
8. The Learning Forum
9. Tutorial Time
10. Forum Focus
11. The Forum University
12. Discuss & Learn
13. Forum Tips & Tricks
14. The Forum Academy
15. Tutorial Tutorials

This would have been very great before the popularity of Gen AI. For example, when I started in 2017, I did not find great resources, and only way to get help was through support forum and it did not come very handy. However, now we have Gen AI and we can get help in real time.

Dang The Forum Academy would have been great but I have a channel now called "Forum_Tutorials" lol. I haven't made a video yet, and the channel icon is not the best. I need to make a better one and a cover photo. I don't think I can rename the channel unfortunately... Or maybe I could just scrap this one and make a new one since nothings on it. :V

If The Forum Academy is available definitely just start over 😛

Welp I tried but I've reached my limit on Youtube lol, I can't make another account with my phone number and unfortunately Google asks for your phone number now when making a channel. So I guess I'm stuck with Forum_Tutorials on YT lol. I just got a Proton email for this new one... I guess maybe I could make a channel on Odysee or Rumble under the name "The Forum Academy." Edit: I deleted the channel lol. So let's see if I can make a new one. :V

It lets me make unlimited emails using my phone number. Although I haven't tried for a while. I usually do it for free trials 😂

So I was able to delete the old channel and created the new one under the name "The Forum Academy", the handle was taken already so it's @The_ForumAcademy on Youtube. There's nothing on the channel yet, but this weekend I'm hoping to get a few videos ready to be posted on the channel. I'm also thinking about making a specific time and date to release videos. I know you can schedule videos to premier and I think I'm going to start doing this on this channel. I will promote it once it's ready. Thank you all for your feedback!

Bit of a weird question but how do I follow you? I typed that username into YouTube and it just keeps giving me another one 😂

In support for this idea, I purchased ForumTutorials.com to donate it for the project. Just get in touch to transfer it to you.

I believe Forum Tutorials is a better name. It's general enough, yet, tells what's about.
You could use the domain name to redirect users to your channel. Instead promoting everywhere the youtube link, you just
provide your own domain(easy and direct). You could collect email from subscribers, have more control of your userbase, etc....

Thank you I really appreciate it! I was thinking about maybe making a blog alongside the channel so there's both visual and text tutorials but that may be a bit much. I do personally like the new name better though, but would redirecting the domain to the channel cause confusion since the names are different?

You've got a new subscriber and I look forward to the first video 🙂

I like the Forum Tutorials name for a blog and perhaps on the blog you could do extra stuff as well as post new videos from the YouTube channel.
