Say what you want. If someones wants to do shit about that's what the edit button is for. Then you tell them what they saw was never up. Then they show you a picture of it. You say its photo-shopped. /Game

To everyone else, law firms are not just going to sue you. They will first ask/instruct the owner/admin of a site to remove the questionable material. They have to directly link you to everything they want gone. Then, as the admin/owner, you would need to decide if they are being reasonable or not in asking for it's removal. If you think they are being unreasonable - then yeah...start saving your money because it could cost you. If you just remove it, then things are fine.
It costs time/money for a lawyer to sue you over something that, if you just remove it from the start, they cant press charges. In court, the judge will ask if the forum owner was properly notified. If not, then how the hell do they know it's not supposed to be there? The judge will throw out the case and the lawyer's outta luck. So, you're safe if you use that spongy thing in between your ears.

@Nexus: Well, never call 1-900 numbers - they automatically charge to your phone bill. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the letter contained one. It's a fairly common scam to get people to call a 1-900 number. :lol:
@Nexus, like the article said, USA, not the world. Trust me, when it comes to Australia, we have the toughest restrictions.
Also, what if I own the server? I would have the right to say whatever I'd like, and make you look bad. Are you just going to let that go?
A couple of recent cases in Australia: France & Anor v Zimmermann - Publication of two libels to one person; claim allowed.
Rastogi v Nolan - Verdict for the plaintiff in the sum of $65,000, together with interest in the sum of $2,500.
The point being, if you feel you've been mistreated to the extent where you are losing from what is being said, whether emotionally, business etc., you can take this matter to a court where proper proceedings will occur.
