Best Age To Start a Forum?

I think it depends, but the best time to start a high-traffic site is to be 13 - 14.

Yes but wont some members think if your around 13 or 14 they would assume your probably immature ad wont contribute to the forum whereas if your older they assume you probably would.. So you can still start a forum if your 13-14 but you would have to prove to people more that you are mature enough and are going to contribute to the forum.. right?

Yes I know, but not many are like that... I know lots about Graphics and webdesign and starting to get into the business world such as Web hosting and online stores etc 😀

I think the best time is 16+, your not too young. But it depends on what your best at. I suppose you could start a site at 13+ if your a graphic designer.

I don't know really. I started getting into forum life when I was 10 years old, and have run boards that have achieved thousands of members before.

I really don't think it matters what age you are. So long as you have developed the proper wisdom, and leadership skills, I think you can run a forum very well.

I don't think age matter, It's just up to the person if they are mature or not and if they have got the time to make the forum/site work with out giving up.

You need to be mature.
The person in charge should be mature and should be able to handle the stress from all of the following:
-Family
-Friends
-School
-Their forum

They should also not run a forum if their parents only allow them on the computer on weekends or something like that. They need to spend a reasonable amount of time doing administrative work and posting around on their forum.

I would say 15-16.

Believe it or not, my fist forum, I started when I was 11 on Free Forums.

It was a promotion forum, did pretty well, but I can do better now if I tried. 🙂

It really depends on the niche of the forum.
A 30 year old should'nt start a forum about Pokemon, And a 9 year old should'nt start a forum about cars.
Any age can start a forum, Believe me i've seen 7 year olds with a better vocabulary then i have, So that's not the issue.
If your really interested in a certain niche, And you know alot about it, You can do it.

Well, I'm 14 and have been making forums and websites since I was 12. My first website was quite popular too, and since then it's been a good experience as I've learned from my mistakes and gained knowledge. I think around 13-14 if you're mature and willing to put effort into it.

But I was very mature for my age at about 14, which was when I became a decent Administrator.

I started one when I was 11, I didn't know anything about forums, we died, I was only 12 at the time so I didn't know better and I deleted it. A few months later, I started one up, got activity, and then gave up again. I then tried it again, with the same name, but on ZetaBoards, never gave up or lost hope, and it's still going. :sleep:

I was an aweful admin from about 11-13, I had like 5 other admins do all the work for me. :rofl:
