What are your favorite colors to put moderators/admins in? Obviously, you want them to stand out in some way, to show that they're staff. I prefer bolder colors, like blue and red. What about you? What are your favorite colors to use?

I always have preferred red, I'm not sure why. I think this is the only forum I've ever been on that has admins in blue. 😛

I think the most common colours that are used for Administrators and Moderators are red and green. That's great and all, but that combination tends to get boring after a while.

I tend to use different colours like various shades of purple and blue, since they stand out and imo look better than red and green. 😛

I've always followed the FP conventions. Not sure why. 😛

Blue = Admin
Green = Moderator
Red = Don't typically use this one
Purple = Other staff (reviewer, etc.)

I definitely will always use green for moderator. When I was a moderator on the RuneScape Official Forums, our posts were colored solid green. So, I guess it's wired into me somewhere: Green = Moderator. 😛

I think that the answer depends from the theme. Usually it's Red, Green or Blue for the staff.

I use dark green for admins and light blue for moderators (a bit like the RA colour here). I have changed it a couple times over the years though. For a few months moderators were yellow.

I think the color thing is a bit of a habit thing too. Humans are creatures of habit and I believe people would be put off from using a forum where the staff colors go against the "Norm", so Admins are usually blue or red and moderators green, purely due to this

The only reason admins are green at my forum is because that's my favorite color and I wanted my username to be green.

:lol:

On one forum that I adminned, but didn't own.. It was a somewhat darkish theme with the admins having a gold colour.

My admin colour on The AtomBB Forums is actually just about every colour, due to the multi-colour system which makes it incredibly obvious that I'm staff, although it uses a normal colour (red, I believe) when I turn that off for the admin group.

That seems like that could be annoying after a while. What hue was it? 😛
Here's one of my old posts from back when I was a forum mod. They use weird software, and one of the features is that an old post made as a moderator still says "Moderator" even after you've left the team. Interesting side effect: it won't let me edit my old posts from back when I was a mod. 😛

Not too bad of a hue, although it used to be worse before they updated the style. :lol:

The admins had gold posts. 😛 I guess this kind of thing makes sense on a really, really large support forum, though. The RuneScape Forums is actually the second largest forum online by post count, at least as of 2012.

In my personal opinion:

Red for admin
Blue for mods
Green for Junior mods or Event team mods, etc.

My colors are red for an admin and green for a moderator, it's just one of those things that looks better and shows authority. 😛

I do like blue as admins as well, but I don't normally see admins with a blue hue. 😛
