Hello, I am looking to start a new community here soon. I am curious what service to go with?
It must be a hosting service, that is fairly easy to setup since I know hardly any coding at all. Not a free forum service such as proboards, forumotion, etc. (Both fine, use and used both) Got any ideas?

I moved your topic to a more appropriate section. 🙂

You should probably know at least basic coding to own a hosting service. You'll have to troubleshoot issues for your customers/users. That will probably require at least basic coding.

Thank you and I know the basics of coding... not much more than that however.

Are you looking to setup a service to host other people's forums? Or do you mean you just want a forum you can self-host?

If it is the second, there are many excellent hosts. I have always had a great experience with Hawk Host personally, who is very affordable and has great support. The next step would be to pick a forum software. I would suggest MyBB if you want a free forum software which isn't overly complicated. If you are looking for a paid one, XenForo is kind of the best of the best at the moment. IPB is also decent, although a little less flexible. I have not personally used IPB so I cannot speak to its complexity on the back end.

Thanks, appreciate it.

I've decided I better go with paid hosting. Does anyone know if Invision power does paid hosting? They seem nice! Any recommendations on paid hosting options?

I see you use exnforo, for your software, I like it! How much did it cost for the exenforo, software, and how much for the hosting if you don't mind my asking?

I would vote for Xenforo. It's the best and cleanest i've ever used. Although it's a bit expensive.
No Free Quality add-ons. But anyway....cheap is expensive. So it's ok.
Xenforo will cost you USD 140 to buy and thereafter you buy add-ons.

If you are looking for paid software, then Xenforo is the best ( FP runs XenForo) and if you are looking for a free forum software, pick phpBB or MyBB. They are the best!

I'm confused as to what you're actually asking? Are you looking for forum software recommendations? Or are you looking for a place to host your forums?

I don't believe in a "best forum service", as this is quite relative.

I'll share what I use: Discourse.org as a forum software + DigitalOcean for hosting. That's my setup. So far, so good.

It is relative, and I am not sure what the OP means "best forum service", Most hosting services offer various
types of forum software, usually the most popular ones, phpBB, SMF, Discourse, Vbulliton, there are many.
A good hosting service will be able to and allows you to install any kind of forum software you want.
Other hosting services limit you to only the ones they offer.
I find it best to just do my own hosting and use my own server, that way my choices are not limited to what
others decide is best.
I see this is kind of a old thread, the OP has not been back for some time now.
