Best forum software?

What do you think is the best forum software?

I think IPB is... You have alot of control over all aspects of the forums and it is simple unlike VB.

Yeah I like IPB. I am not that found of 1.3 anymore but 2.3 is really nice, the look and everything. Then I would have to say phpbb3 :mrgreen:

Vbulletin, i prefer it for its advanced admin panel and mods 😛

From what I've seen, vbulletin and phpbb are both nice. I am a member of a forum that uses vbulletin, and as a user, it's pretty nice and good looking. I'm also admin my own forum, and I used phpbb. Because it was free, and because I thought it was strong, stable and easy to use.

I wouldn't say zetaboards is better than phpbb3,vb or IPB .

i like phpbb, cuz it's free ~wink~ i din't much care for some of the other free software. some looked like cheap phpbb knock-offs, which seems pointless. some didn't strike me as secure. SMF just didn't feel right to me, but i didn't play with it long enough to remember why i opted to not use it.

i have played a little bit with Vb and with IPB. i prefer Vb slightly -- the permissions seemed a lot more adjustable -- but they strike me as somewhat similar.

for now, i'm sticking with free 😛

I don't like SMF. I have had a play around with it and really didn't like it.

I would say vB although I like both phpBB3 and IPB....

I would say phpbb for style
IPB for control
and vB for professional.

IPB and vBulletin they are just great and they have cool modifications and skins too.
