WHICH IS THE BEST FORUM SOFTWARE TO INSTALL ON YOUR OWN DOMAIN.

I'M A LAYMAN IN-CASE OF FORUM INSTALLATIONS AND STUFF. SO ANY HELP IN THAT AREA WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

I reccommend, IP.Board because of it's themes and it's easy to use along with admin panel.
MyBB has become popular over the last few month's so that too.

I agree with Lawson, IPB is very easy to use to and developed to the highest standard. I also agree on MyBB as a free alternative, it's a fantastic piece of software and I enjoyed using it back in the day.

Honestly, I prefer MyBB over IPB as of late. It's simple and lightweight. Don't get me wrong, I too am a license holder. Some of my best forums have been run under MyBB. I can tell you right now though, if you are NOT running phpBB or vBulletin, you'll be fine.

I'll continue with the streak and recommend either MyBB or Invision Power Board. Both are excellent software and you'll go no wrong with either one of those.

Logico, suppense what you are going to base your forum on, SMF is bad for mod's that is probably which I would reccommend a graphics, general chat board. MyBB for either graphics, webmaster and IP.Board seems good enough for promotion forums. It is really up to you though.

I'll say that MyBB is perfect for your needs. SMF is crap, way to secure and featureless.
phpBB is alright, but also slightly featureless.
vB very good, but expensive.

As long as you don't use some retarded software like Beehive Forum, then you should be ok.

Featureless 😵? And mybb better?? mybb doesn't even have a html post control. You either let everyone use it or no one..

Oh and smf has alot of mods... More them mybb has for sure..

Yes, these threads are starting to get annoying. If I found a bunch of these on my board. 85% of them would be archived right now. I'm not even going to answer this thread, as I have stated my opinion in one of the other threads.

The package manager on SMF makes it the hands-down software for first-timers. However, I sorta prefer MyBB after that. Don't get me wrong, SMF is great.
