Who do u feel provides the most options, software wise?

Invisionfree, Php, Zeta? any others u reccomend. Must be linux based.

Ahh I can already tell this will be a long topic. I use SMF (idk if it is linux based) and I like it the best. I find that over 90% of the MODs can be uploaded without even touching the script. Themes are Just about as easy, they take seconds to upload. Although there aren't a lot of features defaultly in SMF, the MODs and theme options take care of it, and make it feel and look like any regular forum. SMF isn't as big as phpbb or vB, but I feel that it is the best forum software out there.

Moved to general forum chat.

this is more general forums discussions rather than support for your forum

phpBB3

Why?

Looks great, has lots of options in the ACP, has a very good selection of MODs, OK they're not easy to install, but still. Most importantly, it's free.

what would you say if you had the money to buy any forum software you wanted, what would you choose?

For a professional board, choose IPB, for value for money choose phpBB, for an overrated software with plenty of useless features, vBulletin. My hosting is on a Linux server and i've run all three on there without fail.

If i were to choose any of the above, it would be IPB by far, then phpBB then vBulletin.

phpBB 3.0.2 ftw! -🙂- Oh, and Invisionfree isn't a forum software, it's a host that uses IPB, and Php is a programming language -😉-

If i had to choose any forum software to use i would go with VB, it has alot of features and since 3.7 it seems overloaded wit useless stuff.

phpBB and invision are good also, but i still rate vb higher.
