Best free forum host?

Okay. They're not as good as installing a phpbb and using PROPER hosting. 😉 Because hardly any of the free forum hosts have any 'good' MODS installed.

For free forum hosts that don't require a Cpanel, I love ProPHPBB. The staff there are friendly and helpful, and they take care of the administration work for you, so all you have to worry about is posting around and keeping an eye on your forum. It's great.

For people looking for MODs for their free forum, this is just a phpbb basic board host. 😉 I did know of one that had a few different MODs on it but lost the link.

They may be basic, but they're still good. Every time I've been with them they've been good to me.

I tried Zetaboards, and they were okay, but I had a lot of problems with them. The forgot my password link didn't work, I got complaints from members saying they weren't getting email notifications if they had them turned on... I had loads of problems with them and I wouldn't be going back there in a hurry.

I think Prophpbb.com is the best free forum host because they are the closest thing to a real phpBB forum, tads only for guests, honest, 99% uptime, and support is awesome.

I've never had those problems, although the password requirement is annoying, I grant you that. To each his own I reckon. 🙂

Although when I owned a ZB forum, I think it was on a buggy version at the time, so that's probably why my members and I were having those problems at the time. I've joined a few such forums recently, and whiel I'm not sure everything's been fixed from the administrator's perspective, a lot of things have been fixed from the users end it looks like.
