The freeforums.org has a big community, yeah. Doesn't mean they will all join your forum though. But hey, each to their own I guess.

JFH allows you to take copies of your database whenever you want for free.
JFH has built in (but optionally whether they are enabled) store, arcade, gallery, shoutbox, and more mods. (Plus a bunch more options as seen here that set it apart from other free forum hosts.)
JFH has been around for over 6 years now so they have a fairly long history of providing quality service to users.
If nothing else JFH is definitely worth having a look into.

I host with Jcinks, love the way I can monitor traffic & change macro's and board details
VirusZero said:I wouldn't recommend proboards. Once you start a forum there you can't leave very easily because they don't give you any option to get your data. (They don't provide you with any way to take your database, if I recall right, it was to protect their proprietary database structure... )
Though their V5 is looking interesting, if you intend on leaving proboards at any point... you'd be best never starting with them.
The last time I checked, Zetaboards also doesn't allow users to get copies of the database so you're in pretty much the same situation as proboards.
InvisionFree and Jcink both let you get copies of your database though. InvisionFree will cost you based on how large your database is while Jcink is free.
Brian Fan,
Jcink is a lot like IPBFree (and InvisionFree) because they both use the same software... (Invision Power Board 1.3)
Though I don't know how much I can really say is left of the original IPB 1.3 for Jcink because a lot has been ripped up, rewritten/modified and changed. (I mean like the whole ModCP is more MyBB than IPB and that's only one section that's been changed. )
