Free hosting is not great but I guess it's not too awful for a static site that isn't going to get a large number of views. Is anyone aware of any good free hosting options out there that support Let'sEncrypt SSL as well?

Have you looked at website building sites? Like Wix or Squarespace. Save option and gives you some options 🙂

I myself have used Squarespace and it's free to use, easy to set up and customization is fun to play around, no difference to having WordPress. Depends what you are wanted to do.

000webhost had a big attack some years ago, didn't they?

I just realised they only offer 300MB of space that wouldn’t be good for even a newer forum my site is 1GB in size

back in 2009 they use to be good for free

My site is with Vintra IP it’s not free but it’s cheap and good they focus solely on their security

The only one that I have heard off is 000webhost but, unless it's to test out your site or something small (like very small), you should go for paid.

I would have told you Zetaboards before they were bought out by Tapatalk.

Now, I would say either Proboards or Forumotion.

X10Hosting became pretty popular a number of years ago, and I even used it a little bit. I've always recommended that over 000webhost... Now it says they're undergoing maintenance, and that has been almost a week ago. That seems iffy.

InfinityFree was suggested on a blog post that I just skimmed. Their website says that it includes SSL as well. I really question the financial well being of these kinds of services. No ads other than on their main website. How can they afford to keep the doors open there?

I remember Zymic but I’m not sure if they still exists since it was years ago.

Some of these things I've never heard of. How reliable are they? Do they have any down time?

I use to advocate X10Hosting too - never really been a fan of 000WebHost. Not sure what either are like nowadays though.

InfinityFree is littered with ads on the backend (control panels) so I presume this is one of the ways they make their money

Because there are so many hosting companies accessible nowadays, choosing the correct one is critical. I believe you should first focus on your requirements. Among the various web hosting companies, those that can offer or satisfy all of your needs at a reasonable price are the ones you should consider as your future hosting provider.
If you're searching for dependable, low-cost web hosting with round-the-clock assistance, eUKhost is the way to go.

I'd say none.

The last popular free web host I used (this was years ago), my data easily ended up in a leak because they failed to encrypt passwords in their database.

I strongly recommend asking a friend to host your site for you OR saving up a little to buy a cheap shared hosting plan from a reputable company.

WHUK is the finest hosting service because, in my opinion, they value the needs of their customers.
Support is critical in the hosting industry since it helps consumers to solve issues at any moment.
Customers rated them 4.8 out of 5 for excellent 24/7/365 support and 99.95 % uptime.
Their administrative and technical teams have always been available to support us with anything we've requested and to ensure a smooth move to their server.

I've never had problems with either Proboards or Forumotion. They do have good support on their support forums.

I would have said the same thing about Zetaboards, however, they were bought out by Tapatalk so I'm not touching them with a 10' pole now.

Instead of looking for a free web host, why not try low-cost hosting, for instance, $1 per month hosting.

When it comes to web hosting, there are a lot of different options to choose from. One of the most popular – and cheapest – is free web hosting. Sounds great, right? But there are a few things you should know before signing up for free hosting.

First of all, free hosting usually doesn’t come with very many features. For example, you may not be able to use your domain name, and you may not have access to certain tools and applications. This can make it difficult to build a website that looks professional and polished.

Second, free hosting can be unreliable. Your website may go down frequently or experience other technical problems. This can be frustrating and costly if you rely on your website for business purposes.

Finally, using free hosting can hurt your website’s search engine ranking.
