Best free PHPBB host?

I'm considering going with a different host and it has to be PHPBB.

Now number one, which is better, PHPBB2 or PHPBB3?

I'm going to do this in secret for about a while, and eventually reveal the new forum to my members.

What's the best free forum host that has PHPBB?

Now it needs to have the following:
*A chatbox
*Ability to create widgets and such.

Hi you can check out our services, although we do not offer widgets.

I have had many years experience in hosting although i have not been doing it for the last year or so as have had a break after selling my old host. We will be adding some mods later on in BBhosts journey but we will not be adding loads. quality not quantity is what we have learnt over the years. 🙂

I prefer http://www.wehostyour.info for a host. Don't go with forumotion, freeforums.org, or any of them. Host your own phpBB 3 forum if you want phpBB.

Both of them are pretty bad hosts and fantastico is a massive aswell. They take ages to keep up to date and phpbb dont support installations using it.

I think Fantastico only allows you to install phpBB2..

Fantastico still offers 3.0.6 for us. 3.0.7PL1 has been out for over 8 weeks now and it is still out of date.

Well I really think if you are serious about running a forum, you need to get some cash and buy a proper host, and download and install phpBB3. You wont get anywhere if you don't try it and also learning how to code your forum and do it yourself will give you a better understanding of how to run one, then you can put whatever you want on your forum.
