What is hte best free video editing software??

I am using windows 7.

Search download.com for some. They have legit files..no viruses or anything.

You won't find many freeware ones that are good. Just cutting and audio stuff, use MPEG streamclip. Anything else, you'll have to dish out some $$ for anything half decent.

I want to do some simple stuff. Like cutting up video files, adding music. Stuff like that. Pretty much what windows movie maker can do but a little more advanced. I WOULD use movie maker but it won't install for some reason and i gave up on that.

Have you tried Windows "Live" Movie Maker?

I use Windows Live Movie Maker for my Youtube screencasts and videos, but I notice it is kind of buggy once you cut too much stuff out. But, it can encode in 1080P.

I believe Windows Live Movie Maker comes with Windows 7.

You can also try VideoSpin: http://www.videospin.com/Redesign/ But, some of the codecs aren't free after 30 days.

I have tried windows live mm but there is an error when i try and start it up. Something goes wrong in the install everytime and i can't fix it so movie maker is out of the picture completely.
My version of w7 doesn't have movie maker on there by default.

I will try videospin.

If anyone else knows of other programs lemme know!

UPDATE: Videospin won't let me mute my video and it won't let me add music.
