Hello all,
I am looking at making a HTML website what is the best free web host out there that's most trusted?

I am saying free because I want to setup a website and if it becomes popular then I'll move over to paid hosting. It'll be a Website Services, free posts etc.

Thanks.

X10 are pretty good. I use them whenever I want to host a free site, they don't put any ads on your site and are pretty reliable too - https://x10hosting.com/2840.html

I built a website for someone (a HTML site) and they are currently using X10 to host as well (free)

They also have premium hosting if you ever want to upgrade

Why not just pay the $4 a month for hosting? You can get hosting for super cheap. No need for free.

Yeah, paid hosting is always better. But I guess if you just want to test the waters a bit and see whether you really do want to go ahead with a certain idea, free hosting (especially with X10 like I suggested above), is good enough.

There's no 'best' free web hosts.... There's cheap which is great.... but free is unreliable.

I would say anything ad supported would be better because they have to justify the ads. In other words, who would tolerate them if not getting high bandwidth in return? Well, maybe very financially struggling and inexperienced webmasters.

I used to use free hosting at Byethost. It's worth to use, no ads, acceptable resources and have free support too. You can try them.

http://www.Ultimatefreehost.in offers Free premium web hosting services that provide you with the peace of mind knowing that your site is secure, reliable, and most importantly, highly available. There are many web hosting companies in business today but important factors to consider while choosing is the reliability of the provider, reputation in the industry, and the ability to grow your business with your web host.

I have used free hosts in the past and there is always a catch to it. Either there is ads on your control panel or website somewhere, or they dont allow you to get backups unless you pay for it, etc. I would honestly advise you to have paid hosting if you plan on doing anything serious.

@Empire That one, like many, is just a ByetHost clone.

That said, free hosts are garbage for anything other than testing when you don't have a local PC nearby, but if you have to use a free host, Byet is just about passable, except that half the time activation emails don't send for new users.

A DigitalOcean VPS with 512MiB of RAM is only £3.99 a month or so and is sufficient enough for a website that is beginning, though you'll need to configure things yourself.

There are several free hosts available but that's not good for any long-term business and also there is a security issue as well.
