A question for the gamers out there who prefer a portable laptop over the desktop. Which brand and model has been your favorite and why? Do you go for a decent gaming experience in exchange for a less expensive price tag or do you want the best performance out of your gaming?

For gaming, Desktop. Always desktop you can't get away with that since they have better hardware and able to upgrade.

You can customize it to suit your needs.
Disadvantage:
Customization can be expensive.
I must disagree with that. If you don't spend on RGB leds you will be good.
It depends on your needs. I am currently pursuing building my own pc for bitcoin mining and so far the parts are looking expensive. In particular the asic chip I am looking at.
