I read on some blog navy blue or dark blue gets more clicks on ad text links on Adsense and other ad services since more people know that Bright Blue text links are usually advertising links for adsense.

I tried using Navy Blue for text ads for Adsense on some of my website and blog. It looks better on my site and I been getting a few more clicks, but it could mean an increase in traffic.

I would say yes, stay away from the normal blue link ad color - since we are known to ignore them. Though, I would say try your BEST to integrate the color scheme of your website into the ads. This is because a normal link on your website and an ad link can look the same, so even more click-through rate imo.

I'd agree fully with this. There is no best colour, but there is a colour that will work best on your particular site. Adsense has excellent reporting features. Try a colour for a week, then change it and compare the results. Keep doing this, until you find the colour that works best.

I think for most links it is best to pick a darker or lighter blue color, so most people at least know it is a link. Sometimes when people make their links purple, red, yellow, black and other non-blue colors they don't look like links and are not very noticeable.

Adding an underline to the coding for links helps substantially, as opposed to the colour of the link.

From all of my art knowledge, the best colors to get someone's attention are the 3 colors of the scale RBY. You probably have heard of RGB or RBG or whatever it is, if you work with Photoshop. RBY is the original triad in which the color go together to get attention. Just imagine it: A blue, red, and yellow, all bright hues. Wouldn't that get your attention?

Thanks Volux, do you have any examples where that colour scheme is used?

There were some pictures in the book that brought attention to my eyes definitely. Red blue and a intense yellow. I can't really give any examples, but could maybe photoshop one here sometime when I have time.

I think Yellow is only good for dark backgrounds since Yellow is hard to see on white and light backgrounds.

Not if surrounded by red and blue, it will stick out.

Noticeable or not no one is looking to click on links.

Best way is to integrate your ads into text, and make it same color, but with underline. When they click on it, its an ad.

I agree integrating content witrh ads can be a very effective way at gaining more ad clicks, but I kind of feel it can make some people not want to come back to your forum since they feel they been tricked into clicking your ad instead of actually clicking an ad or link they are interested in.

It happened to me. I wanted to click a software installer, and I accidently clicked the "Download now" button on an Ad instead of the actual "download link" and I got redirected to some other site. I had to click back to click the real download link.

I think this can also not be good if a ad link which said Download on a free software site directed people to a fishy website with bad software instead of the real download site since it can make people write poor reviews on the legitimate software, but not knowing they actually installed the software which they got by clicking an ad on a banner. I sometimes read reviews for legitimate software and some of the reviewers called legitimate software like lavasoft adaware, spybot, etc a virus, so I guest they probably clicked on a sponsored link to a spyware program made by someone else, but with the same name or almost the same like those website with names like Yuotub.com .

Re: Best Link Color for getting more Ad link clicks and mone

The text link color that will get you the most clickthroughs is the one that best blends with your site. This applies for AdSense and for sponsored text links. So don't try to get all fancy and make paid links some other color, people will pick up on that and ignore them.

It all goes back to testing. Some colors or styles or even positions on your site will make you more money. So test it over and over until you find the one combination that makes you the most cash!

MONEY MAKING TIP: For AdSense (or other ads), NEVER put a colored border around it. By making the border and background the same color as the background of your site it makes it appear as part of your site instead of some block of annoying ads.

I agree colored borders around ads make it very obvious. I think making your website background and ad background white can be a good idea since a lot of image banners are also white so they blend verywell with white website backgrounds.

Re: Best Link Color for getting more Ad link clicks and mone

I make my text link colours contrast with my site. For example, my X Factor blog is most red and white, with the adverts being in bright blue. My Got Talent blog is most blue, with the text links in bright red
