Some app recommendations for medical students here using iOS:

- Anki (good for memorising)
- Day One
- MindNode
- iStudiez Pro
- Notability
- Epocrates
- UpToDate
- Medscape
- MedCalc
- Essential Anatomy 5
(gross anatomy and surgery rotation)

I also recommend iBooks or Kindle. It's so good to have all the books like First Aid and Surgical Recall on one device.

Other recommended apps: Tweetbot, Overcast, Things, Clear, Silentium (Ad Blocker, requires iOS 9 and 64-bit devices).

I personally use all of these, along with some apps specific to my program. Most of these medical apps are mostly useful when you're approaching third year, though.

I hate how everything is starting to require iOS 8 or 9. My iPhone won't update to iOS 8 because it's an iPhone 4 so there's like no apps I can download.

Yeah, that can be a common occurrence depending on the apps you use. Many of the big guns retain support for older versions; so while you can technically continue using the app, it likely won't be updated outside fixing bugs. Many new apps are requiring iOS 8 and above though, yes. Most devs cater to the bigger user base, which is at present iOS 8 & 9 giving iOS 7 and below little to no support. And then newly released apps only support iOS 8 (and above) right off the bat.

Sadly, very little can be done about this. I believe iOS 9 is the last update even the iPhone 4s will be getting.

Ok I use Android so my best is Google Play Store. Because I am very easy to be bored by apps so I need to change them.

For me, it's Google+.
It has nothing to do with how useful it is, its just the fact that Google+ is faster and less crappy than the Facebook app. Also, unlike the Facebook App, it doesn't randomly ask me if I know complete strangers in the middle east every five minutes.

The worst app I have ever used was, without a doubt, Google Maps. Every update makes this app crappier and crappier. Its slower than a snail with polio, and it crashes harder than a DUI in Sothern California.

I think the best app are Google and Facebook. I think so because such apps know how to avoid the 5 mistakes that a business apps usually make in building a mobile app
The fact that Facebook's app saps my battery like no other deters me from installing it ever again — and if you're telling me that a company as large as theirs can't optimise energy consumption of their app — simply put, that is ridiculous. It's user-hostile. If they can optimise it but don't want to for whatever reason they have — well, that's even worse. That's a huge mistake business apps like Facebook and Snapchat are making.

In most of my friend's phones, Facebook is the app with the highest amount of battery usage in the background. They're now only using Safari to browse the social network.

Best designed in my mind for Android are Textra (replaces stock text app), Snapchat, YouTube, and the Instagram App

Best mobile app for??? Each mobile app has a particular function. I'm so busy therefore mobile apps like Skype, trello, Google Drive is extremelly useful.

Just to add onto my previous post...

6- Pushbullet
You download this on your phone then on your PC(s) and you can then easily see when someone texts you (and respond to them just by typing on your PC), send messages/notes to your phone, send files to/from your phone easily.

It's also nice because if you have multiple computers you can send messages/files back and forth between them too.

7- Showbox
Stream basically any TV show you want, for free, to your device. Shows are typically updated within a few days of an episode airing on TV. I don't know how it works... but it does.

8- Ringtone Maker
Ever have that one section of a song/file you wanted to use as a ringtone but could never get it by the built in tools? Well with this app you can purposefully select that bit and save it as it's own file to use. It's pretty simple to use and works very quickly without issues. It's not a full-fledged audio editor but it does a good enough job for what most would need it for.

9- Fuel Buddy
Admittedly I'm not fond of the new version because it asks for location data. (You're a stat tracking app... why do you need to know where I am?)
But the program works quite well to show how much fuel you put into your vehicles, what that fuel costs, and track how many miles you get out of your fuel.
It can also be used to track expenses for your vehicles. (It can handle multiple vehicles without issue and keep that data separate.)

10- Navmii
It's a free GPS program for your phone. The maps are updated every so often (but watch out they're upwards of 700MB so you need a fair bit of storage in order to actually download and use them.)
It works half decent and could help in a pinch, but it can be finnicky to load/type addresses and find where you want to go.
But for a free option it is definitely worth considering if you don't already have a GPS.

My most handy apps for my iPhone:

- Google Maps
- TWC TV
- News
- MyFitnessPal (Calorie Tracker)
- Spotify
- Zedge (wallpapers and ringtones)
- Desktop Weather
- Saviry Free
- Xbox SmartGlass
- iButtons
- Fitbit
- DrinksFree
- Cocktails
- Sleep Cycle
- GuitarTuna
- Tabs
