I am looking for what most will call the "best," this probably won't show up since this is basically an opinion based question, though what do you think is the best (i.e. services & features vs cost).

I have and is currently used PayPal (probably one of the most known payment gateway companies). Though, I sometimes feel, their fees are a lot, especially when you want to use Website Payments Pro, which forces you to even pay a fee just to use their API.

Anyone else have any other ideas? Here are a few, if you want you can help me compare them as well:

ProPay.com
FirstData.com
Authroize.net

The only one I have ever used would be paypal and it works pretty good for me and I'll always stay with them 🙂

I use them as well, though, there are a LOT cheaper and better solutions out there than just PayPal.

Yes it does. Its an exponential increase. The more you spend, the more they charge.

Charge what. They have not charged me with anything nor anyone I know. They do have tax though which idc about.

Lol, you mustn't know many people then. For gifts, they charge you quite a fair bit. For expenses, it all comes in the package, so really you are paying more than whats being said.

No they don't charge extra they subtract from the amount the person gets. eg if you sent a dollar they would only get I think 70 cents

That would be really unfair and unmoral. If you are sending them $1, then you should pay for the extra fees, not them. If you clearly said they were receiving $1, then they should get $1.

There is an option for if you want to pay that or the receiver.
