Best Place to buy a domain?

I own about 30 domains, all registered there. Never had any problems at all.
Plus Namecheap gives you free domain privacy (so that your home address & all your personal information isn't displayed when somebody does a WhoIs search on the domain), but GoDaddy charges $8/year for it.

I used GoDaddy and the only think I don't like about it is that you have to pay for privacy.

I have a few domains hosted with Godaddy. There are some really good coupons around for cheap domains.
Godaddy is not a good place for web hosting but for domains they are good.

GoDaddy overcharges for everything, and you basically have to coupon hunt if you want the price to be a couple of bucks cheaper. I have almost all of my domains registered with them and regret it. They aren't horrible, but they're not great either.GoDaddy also breaks ICANN guidelines and has other issues. I haven't had any problems, but it's best to avoid them.
Go with either Name.com or Namecheap.com, both are very reliable. You also get free privacy, which will save you $8 per year.

Agreed. The domain for my personal site is purchased from NameCheap. You get a free year WHOIS protection (so that people can't see your personal information) and a free SSL certificate. Also with some coupon codes from http://www.retailmenot.com/view/namecheap.com you'll be sure to get a great deal.
So, they're cheaper than Godaddy, the sign-up pages aren't full of offers and they're an all-around decent provider. :great:
