Well forums/websites/blogs do not run on thin air..and need to gain income from additional sources. Is there any companies you have had success from, selling ads pace on your website? if so, let me know the name of the company 🙂

I understand there is buysellads.com but what are the others out there?

Thanks

I want to say there is one called Publicity Clerks or something like that?!

I bypass the middle man and go for direct advertising by myself. Then I get to make all the money 😀 Here lately I have been making several hundred dollars a week which is great for my dedi's monthly cost!

bidvertiser.com is another one, you can actually us an ad netowrk with it as well to run ads when your inventory has not been sold by puting in their ad tags.

When your forum is established this is the way to go, but as you are getting started Ad Networks and Marketplaces are a great way to start.

Of course it depends on your design, on your page lay-out. Top-right squares are very good.
Banners can be ok, but many people dislike them a lot. No moving banners of course can ever be an option for a self respecting site (I'm talking about annoying vibrating banners!) A smaller tasteful banner, and a few side posts is not a bad idea. FB has handled ad placements really well. They have kept the user experience firmly in mind with all these decisions.
