Best Plugins for MyBB?

I just started up my site http://edgecouncil.com and I need to what plugins are a must to get this forum to the top of gaming forums. Please don't criticize it because it just started up this week and I need plugins/mods and members to get this thing going so thank you.

MyTheme (I think that's the name). It's the plug in that adds a theme chooser so you can have more than one theme on your board.

Lol I know that link but theres so many mods I'm just wondering which ones are necessary for a forum like should I get New Points? or and other mods ya know?

No mods are NECESSARY, you should only install mods that will benefit the fourm.

This can also depend on the niche of the forum eg: a promotion may need NewPoints.

As death said, plugins are meant to be used if you miss a feature. But try using Registration security questions and Google SEO.

Honestly kavin I disagree with your list. AdminCP Honeypot just seems ridiculous and I don't see the point. And Newpoints should only be used if it is needed. But google seo an security questions are good ones.

lol. How is Admin CP honeypot ridiculous? It helps to reduce or slowdown hackers (do note i said reduce). Just change admin cp directory name and install Honeypot. Most hackers would fall for it.

A lot of non hackers will also fall for it. Because it is often used as a prank rather than for it's intended use. And 90% of users will at least TRY to see if they can access to ACP, hell even I would! It's worth a try right? So in my opinion it is an incredibly inaccurate plugin that will cause innocent members to be banned.

Admin CP honeypot won't ban anyone automatically. It will just send you the login info they tried and their IP address. You can always check the IP with your users to make sure whether its a hacker or real user.

And if people believe, trying to login to ACP, is worth a try, then they more likely deserve a ban. 😛

I have been looking at the features of Newpoints. They look good. Have you encountered any bugs when you used it?
