Best SEC Schools Ever

Well man I'd have to say Florida is the most consistently good team. Getting good recruits ad being a contender every year. Also, Auburn & Albama are good to but Florida has been at that caliber for years!

Florida has been a consistently great team for only the past 20 years or so. Before that they had long periods of mediocrity.

Over the years Alabama has shown that it is the most consistent winner since the founding of the SEC. One surprising one if you go by recent events is Tennessee listed as #2 in the article. Sure they won a National Championship in 1998, but since then they've been bad to say the least. Ok... maybe not too bad, just not great in the SEC.

Yeah I definiatly have to agree with you about that! SEC is one of the best or the best confrence in college football. I mean comeon Albama and Auburn have won the past two national titles that's impressive to me!

Well, the SEC has claimed the last 5 with 4 different schools. One school making a consecutive run is one thing, but 4 different ones is even more impressive.

I hate Alabama with a passion (Go Vanderbilt), but I have to agree with the article and go with Alabama. They have been pretty consistent, and they seem to contend in football year after year. They're my pick as the best SEC football team of all-time sadly.

They did have a few rocky years in the early 2000s but have since bounced back and are back to their usual selves. I'm glad the rest of the schools are highly competitive as well. Makes for great games!

Yeah the south always makes football games even most highschools in the Southeastern region are good. If I was to be big enough to play and wanted to get to the NFL I'd pick an SEC school!

Definitely. Nick Saban from Alabama also seems very skilled at coaching players up to a level where the potential for their NFL careers is revealed. I think last ear there were 3-4 juniors that left school early for the NFL and half the senior class either got drafted or signed on to a team later.

I would like to play football with Nick Saban or Urban Meyer as my headcoach they're two of the very best college coaches of all time. They will be where Lee Corso & Boomer are (with television contracts and making money after they retire.) Very good thread you don't see many threads respecting talent from the SEC.

I could see Urban Meyer moving on to broadcast at a later date but I could never see Nick Saban doing so. They both have passion for the game but Saban has so much more drive for winning. I could see him being one that would come back out of retirement to coach again.

I agree with that I'daily rather play for Nick Saban because Alabama is such a recognized contender for BCS bowls every year. Plus he just seems like he knows what he is doing!

Agreed. He made LSU what it is today before he left. He gave them plenty (a National Championship) before he left and proved it was HIM that made things happen as he quickly won another at Bama.
