Vista was a bloated code monster that needed constant patching and supercomputer resources to run efficiently. Windows 7 by all accounts is a much slimmed-down and optimized piece of code

Enhanced Compatibility

One big complaint about Vista when it launched was that many applications and device drivers designed to work with XP wouldn’t work with the new operating system. Microsoft claims — and work with pre-release versions confirms — that this is much less a problem with Windows 7.

I used to prefer Windows XP previously before Windows 7 was launched. Windows XP was more user friendly and multi-tasking compared to other OS at that instance. But with the launch of Windows 7, we got a more secure and reliable Windows which helped to customize for information on our devices.

I like Windows XP most because it can work pretty well even on older computers with 1.6 GHz Single Core CPUs, 512MB of RAM, 20GB hard drive, and older video cards with 128MB of video RAM.

But, Windows 7 is probably best for gaming since most games now need Windows 7, and 7 is probably more stable than Windows 8.1 because 7 has been out longer.
