Best video card and cpu?

What is the current best video card and cpu out there?

I'm looking to build a new gaming pc pretty soon, and cant decide if i should go with an intel i7 with a nvidia card, maybe even in sli, or if i should go with an amd phenom quad or six core with a radeon 6970 or something

my current setup has an phenom II x4 3 ghz and 3 amd 4870s in crossfire.

i am leaning towards the i7 this time but im really looking for the best performance

And i have Intel Core i7-3960X Extreme Edition 3.30 GHz

And my computer can run everything. There is no game my pc can't run on the best graphic settings.

That must have costed a few arms and legs. I'm jealous.
I do have a 7970 though, and a 4.2GHz hex core.

The 690 is the current fastest card so like Cas, that's what you're going to be looking at.
I don't know how that i7 compared to the rest of the Extreme line but those are definitely the fastest processors you can buy.

Yup the complete package cost me over 5000 euros. But it was worth it 🙂 I worked very very hard for it since i'm only 17 😛

Great system you got there,
That extreme edition cpu probably cost around $1000, newegg sells some for around that price.

I will definitely look into these 2 parts when I am building a new system for myself.

It depends on your processor. With some processors, it can max out every game no problem.
