Okay, I'm going to need some help because I offered to take over my church's webpage and they said they use WordPress. What are some excellent tutorial sites for free or YouTube channels with free tips, instructions, etc...?

YouTube is absolutely full of tips and tricks and guides for WordPress, you will not be lost for choice there 🙂

I'd love to know which ones people have used and were the BEST 🙂 Anyone can claim to be the best, but that's not always the case. Have you tried any? How did you learn?

Honestly, I learned from trial and error, and a LOT of time spent in the WP help docs 😀

Similar, it's very simple, to the point you can mostly point and click and then type. There are also countless extensions to help improve functionality🙂

I gather that it's already setup and running, so that instantly removes a lot of the common mistakes, then it's just a case of knowing when to use posts and when to use pages for content, not defaulting to the "Uncategorized" category, removing any remaining demo content, and so on. Just common sense things while posting 🙂

I'd make sure the site is set to automatically update. Unless you intend to micromanage the updates. I trust that the hosting the church has does include backups in the scenario something where to happen with an update?

So, I got started today in changing my church's website! The theme that they're using is really limiting my ability to customize parts, and that's irritating. I might change the theme someday, but for now, I have a great start, and it's all super easy. Thanks for all the help!

That's fantastic, I'm glad it's working out so far! Yeah, themes can be a problem at times, but there are lots of options out there 🙂
