Would you say it is better to have a lot of traffic to your homepage which is usually example.com or example.com/index.html compared to having traffic being spread out where visitors from search engines, referring sites, word of mouth enter your other pages like example.com/other-page rather then your Homepage?
I prefer visitors find my homepage first since they can easily know what my site is about and keep up with site news by reading a few posts on the homepage. Plus, my homepage usually have a lower bounce rate compared to most of my other pages on the same domain according to Google Analytics.
But, Traffic is Traffic so any quality search and referring traffic will be fine for me.
