What is a good birthday present for your girlfriend?

Should I get her a purse? perfume? which brands are the best?

Should I get her multiple gifts or just one gift?

Quite honestly, this is not something you should be asking us or even asking random people. You know your girlfriend, you know (or should know) what she likes and/or what she wants. Asking strangers what you should get your girlfriend gives me the impression you don't know much about her.

Absolutely true. Well, at least the person is not asking whether he should give her a flower or to promise a perfume 😀

Before deciding on the present, it would be good to speak to her.

Find out what she likes, what she really wants, and try and find a present which both fills her needs and can be memorable too.

-- 26 Apr 2014, 21:28 --

...A bit of romance too, always helps too.

and actually, it may even be better, if you give her her present when you take her out to a romantic and exclusive place for dinner and celebratory drinks.

As The Governor stated, you should really know your girlfriend well enough to determine what she would like. You could buy her perfume, but does she wear it? If so, try to find out what brand she wears. She may only use a particular perfume because she doesn't like others.

You could get her a purse, but does she need a new one?

Overall though, such a thing should have decent consideration to it. Just buying her perfume or a purse because they're girly things is just a lazy reason if that is the only reason you're getting them. It basically says "I couldn't think of what to get you so I got these because girls like them" and has no real meaning behind it.

I struggle with buying gifts for people sometimes, including a person who I happen to know extremely well. Most things that a person is interested in or wants, they already have got for themselves. That leaves you with a world of crap you think they might like but still might disappoint them.

A gift could be a fun day out, and will be more memorable. Does she like rollercoasters? Take her to a theme park. I'd love a gift like that, personally. 😛

I'm taking my girlfriend on holiday for her birthday 🙂

I think brand and price no matter in gifts. A single red rose can bring happiness to another. Feeling is more important than gifts.

I literally got my girlfriend a present today for her birthday 😛

What I did: I got a shoebox and found a whole bunch of stuff we could do on dates. Stuff like puzzles, playing cards, movies, and a ton of candy. You can't forget the romantic candle. 😛

It all cost me about $13 and she LOVES it! We call it "The Date Box" 🙂
