Bitcoin, Your Thoughts?

I love the idea of bitcoins. Paypal is a terrible platform for sending money. Bitcoins could very well be the future of a global currency.

I've researched Bitcoin a ton, and I know for sure GPU mining is a total waste of cash. Buying dedicated Bitcoin miners is the way to go. With the difficulty the way it is, I'd pay NO MORE than $10 per gigahash if you ever want to make a profit within a year.

At this point you'd be better off waiting until the price of Bitcoins goes down a bit, then buying Bitcoins and selling them when their value goes up. A couple months ago they were worth $125, now they're worth like $190+.

I am following Bitcoin for a while, I feel Bitcoin will become quite powerful in the next few years.

Bitcoin is up to a whopping $816+ now! That's a 5x or 6x turnover from a few months ago, and a 300 dollar increase from a few days ago!

It'd be smart to look into the markets and invest in Bitcoin now instead of mining for sure.

I agree, I wish I didn't sell my 5 bit coins at 150$ each but I didn't want to take the risk and didn't know it would explode like this.
It's not a good time to buy bit coins as a long term investment because it could go down fast again but with the fluctuation you can make quick cash with the buying and selling of btc.

My father has been into investing things for years (who doesn't love investing - I recently received $4,000NZD through good investment choices), long before I was born and he invested in Bitcoin when it was around $50ish per Bitcoin and he put $1,000 down so it wasn't to much if it didn't go very well. He got around 20 Bitcoins out of it which means in it's current state that $1,000 has turned into ~$16,500.

Not on the scale of the guy who put down $25 which turned into $848,000 (http://news.cnet.com/8301-17852_3-57609 ... rth-$848k/) but shows that those who got in early are doing fairly well and considering there's people with millions of dollars worth of Bitcoin, they're doing pretty good.

EDIT:
And in one day those 20 Bitcoins have gone from $16,500 to $21,400! Bitcoin is going crazy!

It is as with every other currency that if somebody wins there are also someone who lose. Nobody is able to e rich unless others are going to be poor!

There is no money with out an equal amount of debt!

We need a system that is free from speculation.

Reading this makes me sad that I didn't purchase some years and years ago when they were only about 20 bucks per BTC. 🙁

I was doing that the other day, I had remembered there were faucets that were literally giving bitcoins away, and I didn't think it was worth my time to participate. 🙁

Bought bitcoin a few years ago when they were mad cheap (well, my parents did)

Now, they are about £200 each, they are a very good investment. Not sure how much the price will change in the next couple of years, but hopefully the investment will still be worthwhile.

Bitcoin is much better than having money in the bank, Imo because bankers are robbing b*stards.

Please excuse my language.

You need a mining machine to mine bitcoin and these things are very expensive. I'm thinking that it might just be a good idea to steer clear of this crypto-currency.

I used to use bitcoin, but in my opinion, it's value keeps changing too much for it to be reliable, and its also very hard these days to mine bitcoins as the sums become more difficult to mine the next chain

Yeah, the value fluctuates too much, sometimes you have to constantly be checking the market.

Got my wallet setup, trying to mine on my ancient ass laptop is doing no good so im going to start investing cash into it, i feel that it could be a good way of making money if you play the market right

I have heard about them but didn't know this much.I will learn more and then participate in the discussion . thnx :great:

The value of bitcoin again reached to low. I think it it best time to buy some coins.

i had a feeling that it was some sort of bubble (bitcoin) from the beginning. however i love the idea of crypto currency.
