.biz domains?

I previously sold a site about three month's ago, with only 20 member's and less and only to find today 50 inactive members. But that is not why I am writing, the new owner published a .biz domain and I read feedback that most user's joined only because the .biz domain which confused me.

What are your thought's on having a .biz domain, what forum/website genres should have a .biz domain?

Well .biz stands for Business.

IMO I think there pretty pointless, depends on the genre of your website. I try to stick to .com and .net.

I think its pointless aswell, you don't need a website that ends in .biz to show its a business. Surely the content of the website will do that job? I say stick to .com, .co.uk or .net.

If it's a big forum you could also work with .org also 🙂

When I sold the site it was an on-going promotion forum, but I her .biz or cheaper domains because they are less used also.

.biz is restricted to businesses, keep that in mind 😉

And I don't see why people would like a .biz, apart from .cn and .info, I think it is one of the most spammed TLDs.

I don't believe that having a .biz domain helped the site. In my opinion a .com domain is the best domain you can get for the majority of sites.
