Didn't go. Black Friday is a huge rip off. I'd rather buy actual products at full prices over something that's made specifically to be cheap, and then stand in long lines to get it. 😛
I tried going outside to try and get a good deal or two, but immediately backed out after seeing the horde. I did try visiting another store and saw a discounted Apple TV 4; I made sure to snag that nice deal and got out of the store unscathed with a shiny new tech to play with. It was a pretty good deal since you can't expect to see any discounts directly from Apple Stores; if any of them is actually participating in a sale, they're likely to be modest discounts and you're better off looking elsewhere.
Angela Ahrendts (Apple's Senior VP of Retail and Online Stores) made a point of not celebrating Black Friday. Apple backed away from the annual tradition because according to them being good to your employees will always be good for business; and as a marvelous reflection to this statement retail employees get three days of paid leave in addition to any regular vacation time accrued.
As a case in point, Apple would rather off load sales to other stores (Best Buy, MacMall, et al.) than have their own employees go through pain.
Black Friday was all right overall. I did end up getting one good deal out of it. But personally if it can't be helped I wouldn't join a massive crowd for a discount; though it's understandable why many others do and I just hope that they were able to grab the deals they wanted without hurting themselves. As for me... I just end up paying the original price most of the time when there are sales and think of it as for my own peace of mind.
Speaking of Black Friday; imagine not spending any money all year—apart from basic necessities like bills and food—and then go and spend it all on Black Friday. When you actually think about it, Black Friday just goes to show how much we are being mugged off all the rest of the year.
Nope. It's an American crazy thing or might say day. Benefits of us Australian that it helps out on the exchange rate, even if it goes up. For example that if it cost $3 US dollar it will be around $4.50 AUD.
We see allot of crazy mad store's on our news showcases that people waiting in line outside the Best buy 2 blocks away
I went into town seeking some deals but nothing really caught my attention. I was pretty disappointed. I expected more price cuts among many products. 😛
I didn't get to do any shopping. I ended up working all friday (I mean from 8am to 10pm... And at that point I wasn't really that interested in going to try seeing if any stores were still open.)
And I tried via Amazon but I've been having issues with my account there. I never really looked at eBay or other locations because of lack of time and desire. There's not really a whole lot I need anyway.
