Personally I would not skip out on Thanksgiving just to camp out in front of a store for a shot to grab something on sale.

Black Friday..one of the worst days. People have been killed because of this stupid day. It's pathetic that everyone says "whatever if I trample this person, as long as I get what I want".

What the hell is Black Friday ?

Birdy, it is the day after Thanksgiving and deals start usually around 4am. Prices are cut very low. Things are free, it is a great christmas buying time.

The official start of the holiday shopping season (so they say).. Its a tradition for all the stores to have good promotions and sales. (Like a $30 toy for $10 and so on)
Its called Black Friday because its a chance for stores to get out of the red and into the black. (financial wise)

I see thanks ............ so its like what we call "Boxing Day" the day after Xmas Day where all the bargain hunters camp out at Harrods from 4am ........... gosh so you really have 2 Xmas Holiday periods ?

Why would they have sales after chirstmas? All the gifts have already been given.

They would because they want to get rid of their things.

yeah, I buy like new christmas ornaments and stuff after christmas because they need to get rd of them to make room for next years inventory thus the price is lowered.

The Sales are always after Xmas in the UK.

Oh yeah they mark down the seasonal merchandise after every holiday.. But there is never any sales on regular items.

I agree with the last part, nowadays everything costs an arm. We no longer accept checks but body parts 😛

Ok well me and the little one did go out shopping for a bit (even though I said I wasnt) 😛
All the real good stuff was gone by the time we got there. We went to the mall, best buy, toys r us, and wal mart.
They had 100 packs of blank cd's at bustbuy for like $7 so I had to get that.. The lil one got this little mermaid doll / play set for only $10. Those were about the only good things I could find.

I went to church this morning and they showed some videos of black friday. A store gave away free flat screens here 😱
