Blocked at school?

Have you ever had your forum/website blocked by school filters? I havnt, yet, but kids in my school are getting on it everyday now, and im not sure what will happen if theres stuff on there teachers may not like. Its all legal of course, but is it possible for them to submit my site to the filters they use? I really rather that not happen, as it may be blocked in certain areas. Thoughts?

My school, Doesn't block to many websites. They started to block youtube until. The rest of the teachers said it could be useful information too. Which is true.

At college all my favourite forums got blocked... Whenever i find a proxy not blocked by the filter it gets blocked.

My college seems very strict with their blocking... Alot of useful sites to help us with our work gets blocked aswell -lol-

I swear you can bring in firefox on a USB and bypass the filter.

I not sure as I haven't tried because they would know I been on it and likely to block it. I find it so annoying when researching things on the internet since my school has a fitter that if a page is over a certain amount we get an error but the teachers don't.

For me it wasn't blocked but was when it was on free hosting as the 000webhost domains are considered ''Spam URLs'' -lol-

At Uni, they only block websites with porn on them.
They don't care about other stuff.

Well the reason why websites get locked, Or blocked as you may say. Is because either the host hosts a website that has adult content. Or maybe something of the "tags" your school as set to block. Also it may because the website as one little thing wrong and it blocks it.

It maybe because many sites are hosting on the same server if one violates the rules then they could ban the server IP which leads to banning them all for the one reason .

Number 1 - Almost all sites I go on are banned including all forums and game sites.

Number 2 - Im not allowed on Computers anyway. Only for ICT lesson

And now a days. Most schools block all websites besides some game websites. Basically only allowing such informational websites such as google ect...

My school uses some filter software, and it blocks everything from youtube to certain google searches. Really, it can filter what google can and cannot search for. They all use FireFox, so bring it in on a flashdrive wouldnt help. Lucky for me I know about proxy's, and I also know how to disable all the filters (Its just a setting in FF) on the computers I use.
