Blog or Website? What Should I Do?

Okay, I have had my website since the beginning - http://www.gorepit.net/

The thing is, it hardly gets updated, and my pages are static. If something pops up i'll add it onto the website but it's not used much. I was wondering. What should I do?

I've just opened up a blog - http://www.gorepit.net/blog/ (the skins a bit messed I still need to finish it) and I was wondering, should I move my site out of the root directoy into a subdirectory called /site? ( http://www.gorepit.net/site/ ) and then keep my blog as http://www.gorepit.net/

Or, should i keep my site as it is and leave the blog as /blog?

I do plan on using the blog much more than the website, so im stuck on a decision.

also, while i'm here, if my blog is on the root directory of my website, would it attract more visitors?

The reason I was wondering about changing blog to the root directory is because the blog will get updated much more than the website. I mean I can just log in post some news and it's done 😛 lol

Hey gore, if I were you I would keep blog in /blog and put site in like /site
Then the main page you can just use a redirect code to either /site or /blog depending on which one you want people to go to when they visit your site.
That's what I do. It keeps it less messy and if you ever want to make a whole new site on the same URL all you have to do is add /newfolder and then change the redirect code to /newfolder.

Anyways that's what I think.

If your going to update the blog alot change it to your root.

I would keep the blog at /blog because site the is the thing you want them to look at, the blog is just accessory to the site so you should keep the site at the root. -😉-

I would make the home page blog and remove the website since it is going to get updated a lot unlike the website and Google loves blog.

yeah. i'd go blog. my homepage is wordpress with a phpBB forum in it. i like the way it looks and all too 🙂

Blog, Wordpress is a fantastic CMS and is very easy to style, update, install plugins etc. so it is by far the best choice for your site. I would even go about getting a good custom theme designed perhaps for around $40+.

yeah. my front page is wordpress. i love it 🙂 it looks custom and it was free. lots of people make really good themes for this so i would put it as your front page with a link to the forum in it. if you need help with finding the right plugins or installing it let me know

Blogging is the current thing that everyone seems to be doing.. Except me haha, so i say go for the blog
