Hello all.
Just a quick debate really..

What is more popular in this day and age, Blogs or Forums?
What I mean by more popular/active is what gets more Users, Posts, Visitors etc.

Blogs as in WordPress websites.

On a Blog you can reply to Articles.
On a Forum you can reply to Threads/Topics.

Both are equally popular in my opinion, even though people say that forums are a dying breed. That's not entirely true though.

forums gets more traffic then blogs, I mean once you read an blog you do not return until there is an next blog, then again most don't return then most don't even read the full blog

The comment activity could change that.

Blog comments are far more popular in Japan than forum posts are.
You can easily see blog posts filled with comments, and the very few forums we have just barely get any posts at all.
On the other hand, in the west this is the exact opposite. w

Both are equals, Forum website help for fix issues and share information in short or long words, Blogs help to write deep information on particular.
In term of Off-Page SEO and making backlinks Blogs will provide more space for target keywords.

In my opinion, in general... blogs get more traffic than forums, forums get more user activity, since blogs are usually limited to just comments.

It depends on the blog, though. If you're pumping out daily posts which are actually helpful, and not just random forum posts, you're going to get lots of returning users/guests.

By blog, I'm meaning a website running a CMS, if you're meaning a personal blog, i'd say forums.. but not on every occasion.

In my experience blogs tend to get more (and new) traffic while forums get more engagement. The best thing is - if possible - to use both for your website or community.

For me, It all depends on the content you make.
if your content is very interesting I don't mind signing up just to post my gratitude or opinions.

as per organic traffic? it depends on the SEO efforts you make.

A blog comment is essentially a forum post. However, it's way at the bottom so may not get noticed as much.
