Brand new theme for mindsConnected!

After several months in development, I am pleased to announce that mindsConnected, an forum for all things tech and science, has a new theme... called "mC 2.0". To put it simply, it is a more modern and more responsive theme compared to what the forum had in the past, and was a joint project between myself, Cory and Nicket.

The main feature it has are the two buttons you will see at the top right corner, one to switch between light and dark variants and the other a colour and shade of your choice, however I must warn you that some text might be unreadable in some aspects, but this will be fixed whenever it's needed.

Way much better than what you had before this way one is appealing to the eyes best thing is people can pick there colour.

Indeed... while the last theme used did give it a retro-like vibe, it was very old I will admit.

Actually, the forum did see higher activity in regards to guest traffic (right after I changed the meta tags) but unfortunately this attracted a lot of bots and "illegitimate" guests, to the point I had the CloudFlare Turnstile enabled to keep them out (and only let legit visitors in, such as your good self).

I'm not too fussed about activity anyway, because at least we have some members that stick around...

There a way to track and block all the fake crawlers but I forgot the code you put in the I forgot he name if it .httaces could never spell that.

it can be done via cloudflare’s waf’s settings and robots.txt.
It’s a lot easier to do it via cloudflare now though.

I think we've kind of went off-topic here... well going back to the original subject, you can say what colour customisation you browse the forum with, and why.

For me, it's "Light, Slate 500" as the colour scheme resembles that of Alpha Plus 2.5, one of the many ancient skins that was purged in favour of the new skin.

Man that's a gorgeous theme! Amazing work, really fits your forum much better than the old one IMO.

The ability to customize is great.... but the default / unedited theme feels too bright. White and light blue are both bright colors. I would suggest an off-white and a darker blue to be the default.

I was thinking about having the default colour combo changed and you're right, it is a bit bright... might have it changed to "Sky 700" because that's more easy on the eyes.

But even so, the theme can be changed in a few clicks, same for when people weren't a fan of XP's Luna theme back in the day
