Brave browser

a friend of mine forwarded me this new browser, so I decided to share it with you 🙂

There's a new startup called "Brave" that Brendan Eich founded. It's a web browser with built in blockers for intrusive ads and trackers, so if you're using an adblocker I'd recommend giving it a try. Apparently, you'll be able to replace ads with ones you want or block them completely, there's also the option to allow them as well. :yes:

I've given it a try so far and it's not too bad ; It's kinda bare-boned at the moment, but it's also pretty fast. I think it came out earlier this year, and I only just heard of it now. lol! Welp, either way it's another browser added to my list

Looks more like a Firefox browser. I will just install it to check its compatibility and use.

I've installed it and used it briefly. It seems like a combo of Chrome, Firefox, and Adblock. The "Bravery" and time to load features are interesting. Fast and easy to use (I'd say faster than Chrome even) but too simple for me- that seems to be what the browser is going for though so it should work on the target audience. I think I'll keep it just to have another browser around and to watch for updates.

This sounds interesting. I don't mind giving it a go. A browser that's faster than Chrome? Yes, that's peaked my interest. I will download it now and check it out.

So my initial impression: relatively small file size for a browser application. Testing it on accessing our website though I already don't like it. 🙁

It is a nice idea, but I think that I will be sticking to Google Chrome/Firefox. Additionally, you're a bit mistaken on the whole 'Ad-Free' part of the deal. Brave will block the dirty ads, the kind of ads that are just messy and will lead to viruses and malware if you download something. Those will be replaced by much cleaner and legitimate advertisements to fund both website owner and Brave users; you can then spend your funds on going ad-free.

I have tried this browser, but as what they were saying, it is still bare boned, and needs more updates (since it is still on its early age). I'd still prefer Chrome over it, not until it can surpass the features I liked on Chrome.

uBlock is an extension for Chrome I've never had a problem with so I have no use for a new browser.
