What are your favorite ways of downloading from browsers?

I like chrome. It is at the bottom, and has a pie chart showing the progress of the download. FireFox's download window always slows me up, and IE's system is just horrible.

I agree with you on that one, a lot easier to download with chrome.

Chrome's a big ass key logger. You can be tracked more easily if you use Chrome.

I prefer Opera. It has a download overview when you hit Ctrl+J and its quite useful with all the information it can tell you from a download file.

I think chrome has the better downloading process than firefox and that new window of Firefox while downloading also bug me

There is a way to shut off the new window on Firefox. I actually prefer a little popup in the corner saying my downloads are finished. They all go to my downloads folder and I can sift through them there.

I use a program called "Free Download Manager" to download files with FF, IE, and Chrome.

Yeah, that's just like Opera.

But no one ever feels like sifting through misc settings just to turn off a download window.

Gotta love Opera's downloads sections. You can either have it open in a new tab, or from the panel. When a download completes, an alert box appears in the bottom corner and hovers for a few seconds before going back down. As David said, it can also give you many details about the file you're downloading, and can be extremely useful.

Also bare in mind that Opera has built in bittorrent downloads, the only browser to support them by default (besides a few made strictly for media use).

I do really like Opera's download system, on Firefox I disable the download dialogue to pop up and just integrated FireFox into libnotify.
