This may have been asked before but my prototype is a big and dynamic forum that gets more than 300 posts in a day from hundreds of active members. We cannot discount the fact that spammers and trolls may be lurking so the staff is an important element. How many moderators do you think is needed for this size of a forum and how much budget is required?

I would say one global moderator and two to three moderators but this really depends how active the staff members are.
The less active they are the more you will need and as go for budget I would say at least 50 to 100 dollars.

2 good moderators is more than enough. Probably around 100 dollars budget.
