What is your opinion on bum marketing? I personally believe that ever since Google Panda came into play, it did have a huge impact on this technique, though I still think if it's a quality article that's posted and its highly influential, you will get ahead regardless of being ranked on google it's still useful.

Some years back, when bum marketing was first invented, you could post an article on a directory along with an affiliate link and get click throughs to the affiliate website. This method depended on real human traffic, not search engines so it wasn't about SEO. Now, most article directories won't let you post your affiliate link. You have to post a link to an affiliate review blog or wiki. That defeats the purpose of bum marketing. As for SEO, article marketing can still be effective so long as you focus on the top article directories and use purely original content every time.
