Bump Feature

I used to... but then I changed from Jcink (based on IPB1.3) to MyBB 1.6 and lost the bump feature. Although, if I recall correctly, MyBB has a mod for it, I just never bothered to install it. I just never used it that much. Most times now if I need to bump a topic it's because I have something important I have to add anyway.

I actually think a bump feature reduces activity. Most bump features allow you to click 'bump' and your topic is moved back to the top, but then you lose the post the member would of needed to make to bump the topic.

We currently don't have the feature. Just a post stating 'bump' is more than enough to serve it's purpose. It's only allowed under certain circumstances, though. 😛

Why on earth does one need a bump feature? I mean, sure I have used it and I am sure it comes in handy, but posting to bump your post I think grabs more peoples attention, and I mean come on, it usually adds to your post count. :lol:

But seriously, the bump feature, IMO, hinders the activity of forum.

I believe I had one on my old site. I only used it in the advertisement section though.

The Bump feature is a quiet good one. Bumping topics without posting duplicate content again and again in the forum. It keeps the database clean and clear.

On the few forums I do manage, the bump feature is turned off, so that there could be more interaction.
