Bump topic not working..

I've installed a Bump Topic plugin, and even though it is compatible with my forum, whenever I click the button, it just refreshed the page.

Is there any way to fix this?

Is it mybb forum right? if yes have you changed the compatibilty from 16 to 18 on the plugin?

It is a updated 1.6 plugin, but yes I am aware of that trick.

It does the motions of a bump, but it doesn't bump the topic up or update the last poster info..

It just stays as it is.

Are you sure that the plugin has been installed properly?

Yes. I've installed the one for the newpoints mod.

I even double checked to make sure I did it right by first installing it manually via ftp, and then uninstalling it and then reinstalling it via the plugin uploader.

No difference, no change.

Sorry for the dumb question but, how do you improperly install a plugin?

It seems pretty straightforward..

sometimes mybb plugins requires plugin library if you have that installed try to update the libray

yes you only activate it when you upload plugin so what you do is deactivate the plugin then reactivate it. And make sure you activiate the plugin library after the other pluigin is installed, that should hopefully fix it

I just tried this, following your advice to the letter and unfortunately it didn't work..
I retested the feature using a topic on my forum and it refreshed the page as if it were doing something and that was it, and it didn't move the topic up on the index either.

This seems to be the go to plugin for that feature, and although the compatibility can be changed to "work" it seems like something else was changed as well between versions, and that might be why it's not working..

Have you tried asking for support on the MyBB forums? Does the developer of this pluin offer any type of assistance?

I have asked for support on the MyBB forums and for days my topic sat ignored even though there were at least 4 different staff members had seen it.

My odd for getting help were much better here.

As for the developer, they haven't been active on the support forum in a while. That seems to be the case with a lot of MyBB plugins..
